Kimisha Simpson, M.Ed., Founder
Kimisha Simpson has over 10 years of experience in the field of education. Kimisha graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Temple University and her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Joseph's University. Currently, Kimisha is a doctoral student at Saint Joseph's University. Kimisha's experience as a classroom teacher, school principal, and school district administrator contributed to her passion for impacting educational systems.
As an educator Kimisha’s philosophy is to ensure children are provided with educational opportunities that equip them with skills required to become global leaders. Kimisha quickly realized her mission is to utilize her expertise to further develop communities that mean the most to her. Kimisha was born to Jamaican parents from the parish of Manchester. From an early age she knew she wanted to return to the island and improve the lives of those connected to her family's heritage and culture.
Ignite Jamaica Fund allows Kimisha to utilize her professional skill sets while achieving her dream of contributing to the prosperity of Jamaica, an island she loves. Kimisha believes equitable educational opportunities are the key to our children and youth unlocking their fullest potential. Through Ignite Jamaica Fund Kimisha is taking steps towards building the educational literacy and economic prosperity of high need communities.
DR. Samira savoury, DBA, director of strategy
Samira Savoury embodies a fusion of strategic acumen and cultural richness, deeply rooted in her Jamaican heritage. With over 15 years of experience in strategic planning and business innovation, Samira brings a wealth of knowledge from her time leading initiatives in renowned consulting firms. Her work with Fortune 500 companies across sectors like technology, healthcare, and consumer goods has been marked by significant achievements in growth and operational efficiencies.
In addition to her impressive corporate career, Samira has also ventured into entrepreneurship as the owner of a successful restaurant in Oracabessa, Jamaica. This endeavor not only reflects her entrepreneurial spirit but also her deep connection to her Jamaican roots and her commitment to contributing to the local economy. It’s here that Samira has been able to merge her love for Jamaican culture and cuisine with her business expertise, creating a beloved establishment that stands as a testament to her multifaceted skill set. Samira's journey of lifelong learning has recently been adorned with her attainment of a Doctorate in Business Administration, adding to her solid foundation of an MBA with a focus on Strategic Management. Catrina smith, director of fund development
Catrina Smith, the Director of Fund Development for Ignite Jamaica Fund, brings a rich tapestry of experiences to her role, shaped by her diverse background in hospitality, aviation, and entrepreneurship. A high-spirited mother and a dynamic business owner, Catrina excels in networking and connecting with individuals across different cultures and backgrounds, a skill pivotal to her success in fund development.
Her journey is marked by a strong commitment to lifelong learning, ignited by a profound thirst for knowledge and personal growth. Ouida davis, director of community outreach
Ouida Davis, Director of Community Outreach, has a passion for helping marginalized communities. Ouida is dedicated to investing in the social, emotional, and physical health of our children and youth. She is an advocate for those navigating their mental and social wellbeing. Ouida's extensive philanthropic efforts support the business development of community grassroots organizations like Ignite Jamaica Fund.
Ouida's experience as a childhood trauma public speaker contributes to her passion for supporting the development of equitable spaces for communities locally and aboard in Jamaica. Her personal journey fuels her passion for cultivating safe spaces where individuals can heal, grow, and prosper. Through her philanthropy, advocacy, and unwavering dedication, she continues to be a beacon of hope for communities in need, both near and far.

Andrea simpson, M.A.
Andrea Simpson has over 17 years of experience servicing children in the social service sector. Andrea has her Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology. She currently serves as a school administrator and aims to help students improve their social, emotional, and behavioral skills.

Pauline Simpson has a profound passion for helping people. As a child growing up in Manchester Parish, Jamaica Pauline did not have the tools she needed to learn. Now she helps to give children opportunities she did not have.
This organization is rooted in the beliefs and ideals instilled in our founder by her mother, Pauline. This fund aims to continue Pauline's legacy.
